Michael, a partner in the Washington, DC office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, is an appellate lawyer who helps clients tackle complex legal issues throughout all stages of litigation. He has experience in all 13 federal circuit courts of appeals, numerous federal district courts and state appellate courts, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States. Before joining Morgan Lewis, Michael clerked for Justices Antonin Scalia and Samuel A. Alito, Jr. at the Supreme Court and Neil M. Gorsuch at the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Sean is well-versed in civil-procedure, automotive, energy, and administrative appeals and is a sought-after speaker on personal jurisdiction, and regularly argues doctrine-developing appeals for a national automotive manufacturer.
More about speakerElbert is a partner in the Washington, DC office of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, where he chairs the Issues and Appeals practice. Immediately before joining the firm, Elbert served as Solicitor General of West Virginia, a position to which he was appointed in 2013. He served as a trial attorney in the Federal Programs Branch of the US Department of Justice’s Civil Division, and clerked for judges in all three levels of the federal judicial system: U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit Judge William H. Pryor Jr.; and U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts Senior Judge Robert E. Keeton.
