Litigation Law Clerk

Public Policy/Legal Studies Intern

The position will expose the student to a broad range of legal and policy issues, enhance research, writing and networking skills, and offer the benefits of working closely with supervisors in a small, collegial office.
Applicants should be ambitious self-starters with excellent research, writing and communication skills, and an interest in the intersection between law and public policy.

Responsibilities include: production of nationally distributed legal policy publications, monitoring and analysis of developments in federal and state courts, legislatures, and regulatory agencies; assistance in settigg up and promoting bi-weekly press briefing events, and assistance in outreaching to and expanding Foundation’s national pro-bono network.

Marketing/Public Affairs

A full-time position is available in WLF''s Public Affairs Division. To assist with the development and implementation of donor marketing and advertising/public education campaigns. Analyze donor input, together with research, to help produce full communications plans. Serve as liaison between foundation and donors. Keep donors apprised of all relevant foundation activities, initiatives, and public education campaigns. Maintain donor database in Raiser''s Edge. Research potential donors. Assist with fundraising proposals and letters to donors and prospects. Provide daily assistance to chairman. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2-3 years administrative experience in a public policy organization. Outreach Coordinator

Washington Legal Foundation (WLF), a national, non-profit public interest law and policy center, seeks a highly motivated self-starter interested in legal/public policy as it affects American’s free enterprise system to join its Legal Studies Division team. This coordinator would devise and carry out targeted outreach strategies to expand WLF’s message and involve more professionals in its educational and advocacy programs. Position would require regular written and oral contact with reporters, attorneys, academics, policy makers and their staff, business leaders, and other outreach targets. Excellent communication and creative research skills are a must. Assistance in creating and editing legal policy papers and other WLF messaging products both in print and online would also be anticipated for this position. A law degree is not required.
